• What is a presidential style speech teleprompter and how is it used?
  A presidential teleprompter (also known as a speech prompter) is a semi-transparent mirror mounted on a narrow stand at a 45 degree angle. There is a monitor underneath which is reflected off the mirror, but the text is only visible from the speaker-side due to the anti-reflective coating on the backside of if.
  As the speaker does not need to look down to consult written notes, he or she appears to have memorized the speech or be speaking spontaneously, without distraction.
  A presidential teleprompter is useful for situations where the speaker is addressing an audience and does not need to be speaking directly into the camera. The cameraman is able to capture the speaker from all angles, especially angles where the speaker is not facing the mirror. Our QuickPrompt products are better suited for recording the speaker looking directly at the camera.
• Can I use a laptop instead of a LCD monitor?
  Yes, it works great with all laptops! You can use a Da-Lite Project-O-Stand 425 or smaller Project-O-Stand 203 to adjust the height of your laptop and bring it closer to the glass.
• How does the quality of your mirrors compare to professional teleprompters?
  They are the exact same product. We are primarily a optical mirror company, specializing in high quality mirror coatings.
• What should I use to clean the surface of the mirror?
  50% alcohol solution (lens cleaner) and soft paper towels are all you need to clean them.
• Does it matter which side is facing outwards?
  To prevent a double image, the mirror side should be closer to the viewer. The non-reflective side should be closer to the camera.
